Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo
April 6-8, 2018
For nearly 18 years, the Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo has “guaranteed every fan through the door more Films and Events than anyone can actually attend over the course of the three day weekend” according to its website. At its two annual events, it attempts to re-create the drive-in and grind house movie experience by showing horror, science fiction, and other movies on real 16mm film (although it shows some movies on DVD as well).
Besides movie screenings, it offers some interactive events, including celebrity guest panels and a Guest Room that is open to attendees. Some of the celebrities scheduled to appear in April include Dee Wallace and Belinda Balaski of The Howling, horror film star P.J. Soles, and blaxploitation film star Austin Stoker.

Days of The Dead
May 18-20, 2018
Charlotte, North Carolina
Days of The Dead is a horror convention tour. It consists of 5 separate conventions that will be held in 5 U.S. cities throughout 2018 and early 2019. The first Days of The Dead convention will take place in Charlotte, NC.
To get an idea about what this convention offers, read its mission statement posted on its main website:
Days of the Dead’s primary goal is to bring back the concept of the genre convention being a welcoming communal gathering of like minded friends and fans and not just another “pay-and-go” autograph show that has become an all too common (and impersonal) experience in the convention scene. Chock full of special events tailored just for the fans, an active after hours scene of horror themed parties, and a massive guest list of the hottest celebrity guests, artists, and up and coming independent film makers, Days of the Dead has already began rewriting the script and setting the bar for what a true horror convention weekend should look like.
The celebrity guests scheduled to attend the Charlotte convention include Linda Blair, Heather Langenkamp, Tony Todd, and Cassandra Peterson (Elvira Mistress of the Dark).
For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Charlotte Days of The Dead’s website.
