Earlier this year, writer and director Tom Holland announced that he would be resurrecting his “Fright Night” comic book series. He tweeted the following message on March 28:
If you dug the ‘Fright Night’ comic book series back in the day, I have good news. I’m bringing it back! New stories and illustrations are under way. Stay tuned for more tales from Peter Vincent!
Now the first of these comics, Fright Night: The Peter Vincent Chronicles, Issue Zero, is coming soon! It is an original comic that portrays what happens to Peter Vincent, a character originally played by Roddy McDowall, after the events of the first film. A Terror Time press release describes it as a “bridge into future Fright Night comic books.”
Some noteworthy talent was involved with the creation of this new 24-page comic book. Ben Meares, who also worked on Hellraiser: Anthology and Grimm Tales of Terror, wrote and edited the script. The comic book was illustrated by artist Riley Schmitz, who is known for his work on Hellraiser: Anthology and Invisible Hands.
Besides selling single copies of the comic, Terror Time is offering a limited edition Deluxe Edition package, which will include the following:
- Fright Night: The Peter Vincent Chronicles, Issue Zero comic book
- Exclusive print by Riley Schmitz that is signed by Tom Holland
- A Peter Vincent “Fang Club” commemorative coin
- A replica of Peter Vincent’s vampire hunting stake produced by veteran special effects artist Stephen Imhoff and signed by Tom Holland
You can pre-order Fright Night: The Peter Vincent Chronicles, Issue Zero starting Monday, July 30th (today!), and then it will be available for order on Friday, August 3rd. This comic book is available only from www.terrortime.shop.
