Fright Night is coming to the stage!
James Michael Shoberg’s Fright Night is an adaptation of Tom Holland’s Fright Night and has a plot similar to the 1985 film. The main character is teenager Charley Brewster. He is disturbed by some of the nocturnal activity of his new neighbor, Jerry Dandridge, and suspects Dandridge is a vampire. Charley’s mother, girlfriend, and friend don’t believe him because Charley is a horror fan, and they think he has an overactive imagination. He ends up seeking help from his childhood hero, a B-movie vampire hunter named Peter Vincent.
This stage version of Fright Night is brought to life by The Rage of the Stage Players, including Dan Finkel as Charley Brewster, Brian Ceponis as Jerry Dandridge, and Greg Crawford as Peter Vincent. While the play is a faithful adaptation of the film, The Rage of the Stage Players state on their website to be prepared for “new twists and turns in the spirit of the original that will make it new to die-hard fans and Fright Night virgins alike!” Please also note that the play contains mature content.
